MAYDAY: about your free vehicle health check

MAYDAY’s teamed up with to offer you a free vehicle health check – the perfect thing for any vehicles that haven’t been on the road much recently.  

If you buy a Premium UK or Premium UK Plus policy between 01 April and 30 June, or if you already have a policy that’s active in that time, you’re able to get your check free of charge.  

We know a lot of vehicles have sat idle during the latest COVID-19 lockdown, meaning there’s always a chance that something may need attention.

So, with lockdown restrictions gradually easing, there’s no better time to get some peace of mind and have your vehicle checked over by a local expert. 

The checks are available across the UK, and they cover: 

  • Tyre tread depth 
  • Tyre pressure 
  • Oil level 
  • Water level 
  • Washer fluid 
  • Battery health 
  • Wiper blade condition 
  • Brake condition (excludes caravans, campervans and motorhomes) 
  • Lights 
  • Bodywork corrosion 

Get your check before you hit the road to make sure your vehicle is as ready to go as you are.  

If you’re a new customer, we‘ll contact you within 7 days after you’ve purchased your policy to let you know exactly how to book your check. If you’re an existing customer, you should receive this information via email or letter by 31 May 2021.

Terms and conditions

  • Offer available to all existing and new Caravan and Motorhome Club members with a Premium UK or Premium UK Plus policy in-force between 01 April and 30 June 2021. 
  • One free vehicle health check per policy.  
  • Checks must be booked by 30 September 2021.  
  • Offer fulfilment is subject to there being a contact email address on your Caravan and Motorhome Club membership.  
  • Offer applies to your car, caravan, campervan or motorhome, but the brake check excludes caravans, campervans and motorhomes. 
  • After your check, any repairs you agree to will be payable by you directly to the garage. 
  • Offer excludes Highlands & Islands
  • Subject to availability.

Additional information

I haven’t received details of how to book my check. What should I do? 

If you are a new customer and you haven’t received details of how to book your check after 7 days of purchasing a policy or if you are an existing customer that has not received your details after 31 May 2021 please call 0800 051 5318

How long will it take for the garage to contact me to confirm my booking? 

You’ll be sent an email after booking your check that will confirm everything. It will also give you your garage’s details, if you ever need to contact them directly. 

There aren’t any garages showing in my area. Can I not use the service? 

There are some gaps in the network at the moment, but we’re working hard to get garages signed up in these areas, so please keep checking back. 

You are also able to book into a participating garage outside of your direct area (if you are willing to travel).

Can I offer this service out to my friends and family?  

Unfortunately, no. We aren’t able to extend this to friends and family. 

Are all the garages enforcing social distancing? 

Garages have been advised by the Government to adhere to strict social distancing guidelines. Whilst we don’t have direct management over practices within the garages, we are advising them to ensure that they observe these guidelines.  

If you feel that the garage you’ve visited is not observing social distancing, please leave feedback on the website. 

What if I change my mind? 

If you set up an account when you book your check on the website, you can manage your booking and make cancellations directly on their site.

If you don’t set up an account, you’ll be emailed the garage’s details, and you’ll need to contact them directly to cancel your booking. 

I’m not happy with the service. Who do I speak to? 

You can leave a review on the website. Or, you can get in touch with the garage itself. You’ll be emailed their details when you make your booking. If you don’t get a response you’re happy with, then please contact the customer services team at to follow up. 

I’m disabled and not able to get out of my car. Am I still able to have the check? 

When making your booking, you can let the garage know any important additional information. Let them know about your needs when you book, and the garage will endeavour to do what they can to ensure they can help you. 

You can always get in touch with your garage after making your booking. You’ll be sent an email with their details. 

Can a technician come to my home to complete the check? 

Due to the fact that these checks are free, it isn’t possible for mobile checks to be arranged as part of this offer.
